Responsibilities

The Inside Sales Representative is an entry level position located in Birmingham, AL, within the sales organization and will assist the sales team with lead qualification, customer prospecting, and account management responsibilities. The Inside Sales Representative will have the following focus areas:

 

Telesales:

  • Initiate sales with existing and potential customers over the phone
  • Generate reports to understand customer requirements to close sales
  • Answer questions about products and service and address any issues customers may have
  • Document all calls and sales and note useful information

New Account Prospecting:

  • Research account targets and contacts.
  • Participate in lead generation strategies, such as cold calling to identify business prospects and create a list of potential customers
  • Plan and prioritize call activities for each lead by date and follow-up cadence
  • Make initial appointments with key account targets
  • Support marketing events and collect attendee information into CRM software
  • Document all call activities, critical account information, and account personality traits into CRM

Account Management and Growth:

  • Field calls from clients on any ad hoc requests
  • Create check-in appointments with existing accounts
  • Coordinate with Sales team to plan and prioritize call activities
  • Document all activities into CRM

Business Improvement:

  • Collect customer feedback and competitive intelligence for use to the broader Sales organization
  • Work with Marketing to collect new information on new targets and to execute marketing campaigns
  • Potentially represent Royal Cup at marketing events

Metrics Measured:

  • CRM – funnel metrics
  • Call metrics
  • Revenue and gross profit generated by the Sales team

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma and/or equivalent (i.e. GED)
  • Relevant selling or coffee industry experience is a plus
  • Self-motivated and have the ability to work on own initiative and manage time effectively
  • Must be proficient in MS office and have basic IT skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work with and support others in a positive way
  • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process
