    The Financial Analyst reports to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. The Financial Analyst will provide key data analytics, extensive financial modeling, trend analysis and metric reporting that supports the Finance team and overall strategic direction of the Company. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detailed oriented with a strong business sense.


    Key responsibilities of the position include:

    • Review existing data-gathering methods and determine opportunities for improvement
    • Work with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, etc.) and provide recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses for strategic decision-making
    • Work with the FP&A Manager on various financial analysis projects, presentations and other materials
    • Serve as an analytical and data resource to the Finance Team and other departments within the company
    • Strong ability needed to perform Ad-Hoc reporting and analysis as the business deems necessary
    • Contribute to the data validation inputs for a Key Performance Indicator (“KPI”) package for the Company utilizing a business intelligence (BI) tool (Hyperion, PowerBI, SAP Analytics, etc.)
    • Assist in development of product and customer profitability analysis, including standard costing and related manufacturing variance analysis
    • Research and contribute to the development of a business intelligence report consisting of financial and operational information of competitors, other roaster and coffee companies and external economic data and trends impacting the business
    • Active participant in building Monthly Forecasts and Annual Operating Plan, analyzing trends and identifying areas of improvement in profitability

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field (Finance, Economics, Accounting) and/or Data Analysis, Computer Engineering, Computer Programming
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, modeling and managing large amounts of data
    • Experience with financial systems, SAP, SQL database systems and BI tools/systems (Hyperion, PowerBI, others, etc.) is preferred
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
    • Strong problem-solving skills, including gathering requirements and report design and development, interpret data, question the results, generate insights and construct solutions
    • Strong attention to detail and data validation
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a matrixed, complex environment
    • Strong collaboration, written and verbal communication skills
    • Additional experience in corporate accounting or investment banking would be a significant advantage
    • Ability to work with and support others in a positive way.
    • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process.
