    The National Account Manager reports to the Vice President of Food Service National Accounts. The National Account Manager will manage key large chain accounts and increase share of wallet.  Leads engagement, monitors customer needs, maximizes and expands opportunity with accounts.


    The National Account Manager has the following essential duties and areas of responsibility:


    Account Management and Growth:

    • Develop account plan for increased penetration for each assigned account; includes identifying activities, dates, expected results, and resource requirements
    • Maximize share of wallet
    • Hunt for new cross- and up-sale opportunities
    • Collaborate with regional sales to promote selling to individual units
    • Lead contract renewals and conversions for acquired accounts
    • Visit accounts to enhance relationships and present new products
    • Maintain an understanding of current customer’s business trends
    • Manage the sales funnel; C4C reporting of activities
    • Manage corporate-level relationships with customers 

    Business Improvement:

    • Track accounts’ financials (revenue, gross profit, costs, account churn, account activity) on a monthly basis
    • Coordinate contact by regional teams with local locations as needed to demonstrate full support capabilities
    • Leverage resources available to help accounts grow


    • Minimum of Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent
    • 5-8 years of successful experience in regional sales or sales distribution roles
    • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, sales presentations, account development, and time and territory management
    • Must be proficient in MS office and have basic IT skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to travel, as required and regularly requiring overnight stays to travel to customer locations, attend meetings, training and other work-related events as scheduled.
    • Ability to work with and support others in a positive way.
    • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process.
