    The Business Development National Accounts will search for new business and generate revenue at assigned large national accounts – develop attack plan, identify solutions, engage with corporate contacts, and close large, strategic new business accounts. The Business Development National Accounts reports to the Vice President of Food Service National Accounts.


    The Business Development National Accounts has the following essential duties and areas of responsibility:


    New Account Prospecting:

    • Develop attack plan for winning specific large national accounts; includes identifying activities, contacts, dates, expected results, requirements
    • Drive and manage the entire sales process
    • Recurrently provide updates on progress against attack plans
    • Represent Royal Cup at marketing events when appropriate to network with potential prospects
    • Successfully navigate proposal process for assigned accounts
    • Manage the sales funnel; C4C reporting of activities 

    Account Management:

    • Manage transition process with Account Managers for accounts
    • Collaborate with Account Managers on major new initiatives for accounts (e.g., penetration of new coffee brand for major hotel customer)
    • Meet with customer contacts occasionally on a quarterly basis 

    Business Improvement:

    Deliver customer feedback and competitive intelligence to the broader Sales organization


    • Minimum of Bachelors Degree
    • 7-10 years of work experience in an external sales capacity role focused on large accounts
    • Ability to travel, as required and regularly requiring overnight stays to travel to customer locations, attend meetings, training and other work-related events as scheduled.
    • Proven track record of closing new business, exceeding sales targets, and maintaining high activity
    • Ability to push past rejection, influence audiences, and achieve results
    • “Hunter” mentality for finding new business
    • Must be proficient in MS office and have basic IT skills
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work with and support others in a positive way.
    • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process.
