    Responsibilities

    The Senior Controls Engineer function has the following essential duties and areas of responsibility:

    • Responsible for all aspects of the plant controls systems including overseeing outside vendors that programs and troubleshoot plant controls equipment both new and existing.   
    • Provide training and guidance to shift controls technicians.
    • Troubleshoot plant’s Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s).
    • Program plant PLCs.
    • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in troubleshooting electrical control wiring issues. 
    • Manage outside maintenance contracts for plant controls including Manufacturing Execution System (MES). 
    • Responsible for root-cause analysis of plant controls issues and developing long-term solutions to these issues. 
    • Familiar with safety standards for industrial plants, including NFPA 70E standards.
    • Program HMI screens using iFix software.
    • Provide limited on-call support is required.
    • Experience with Allen Bradley (Control Logix, CompactLogix) PLCs, Panel View/ Panel View Plus HMIs and Industrial communications networks is required.
    • Experience with Modicon and Omron PLCs is a plus.

    Qualifications

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree is required with minimum of 7 years of experience.  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, but other engineering degrees will be considered with applicable experience.
    • Candidate should have excellent problem solving and communication skills.
    • Experience with Modicon, Omron and Proficy iFix is a plus.
    • Proven experience in troubleshooting electrical controls.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process.
