    Responsibilities

    The Regional Sales Manager is a key management and sales role with extensive visibility within the internal organization as well as with external customers and partners. The Regional Sales Manager will report to the Vice President Food Service & Hospitality. This market is a key and high growth territory for the FoodService Division.

     

    The Regional Sales Manager will oversee the following essential functions:

    • Continually Seek Innovations in Self, Sales & Technology.
    • Immersion into the Coffee & Tea Culture.
    • Involvement in Community & Networking Organizations.
    • Building a Strong Personal Brand via Relevant Social Media.
    • Exceptional People Development via Training & Personal/Team Growth:
      • Oversee a team of 2-4 regional account executives.
      • Recruit, train, mentor and work to retain the strongest sales professionals in the market. 
      • Communicate company goals & messages; provide training on new products/services/sales techniques; maintain individual management relationship with Division personnel.
      • Lead by Example: motivate personnel to achieve in sales, customer service and account management via example of stellar individual achievements in same areas of responsibility. 
    • Commitment to Customers & Account Maintenance Relationship Building:
      • Maintain regular visitation of new targets and key customers - anticipate their needs, promote the latest in product/service technologies, and aide them in reaching their goals for growth & profitability through our partnership.
      • Actively participate in new account rollouts/installations ensuring product quality and service delivery standards are upheld.
      • Take ownership of service delivery & account maintenance via regular customer contact.
      • Follow up on all escalated calls to assist in problem resolution and successful outcome.
      • Adopt a “No Matter What” attitude toward protection of the customer base.
    • New Account Development, Growth of Existing Accounts & Managing Overall Profitability:
      • Working with Division and Regional leadership: develop & implement sales plans; protect profit margins via strategic price management, regular customer visitation, and controlling expenses to meet pre-determined profit contribution goals.
      • Lead by example by meeting personal sales goals.
      • Support growth, retention and success of National Accounts in conjunction with Division goals.
      • Team sell with Account Executives, and Local Manages where applicable.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Marketing or a similar discipline.
    • Minimum of 5-7+ years sales management experience, preferably in the beverage market and/or in route distribution.
    • Ability to lead and develop a strong team.
    • Ability to work independently with an exceptional work ethic.
    • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while maintaining an outgoing and success driven personality.
    • Ability, beyond basic skill performance levels with Reading, Writing, Mathematical & Computer Functions, to include:
      • Ability to read, write and interpret basic correspondence. 
      • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations: add, subtract, multiply and divide.
      • Ability to operate basic office equipment: telephone system, desktop computers, fax and copy machines.
      • Beyond basic abilities with Microsoft Office Software, specifically with Word and Excel.
      • Prior experience using hand held sales device tools and experience with SAP are highly preferable.

     

     

    • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position which are required to successfully perform each essential responsibility.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the core responsibilities.  These physical demands may include, among other functions:
      • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, typing, reading, talking and hearing.
      • When needed, occasional periods of pro-longed sitting while driving to and from customer site locations.
      • When needed, occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching and other functions as required to load, deliver, unload and rotate product for clients.  This may involve lifting and moving product weighing up to 50 pounds and operation of a wheeled hand truck.
      • Ability to travel, as required and periodically requiring overnight stay to attend meetings, training and other work-related events as scheduled.
    • Ability to work with and support others in a positive way.
    • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process.
