    The Plant, Property and Equipment Accountant will report to the Senior Accounting Manager.  The ideal candidate should be an experienced accountant who is growth oriented and interested in assuming positions of greater responsibility within the Accounting function, as their skills and abilities progress.


    To be successful in the position it is essential that the Plant, Property and Equipment Accountant be a detail-oriented, analytical, mathematically-inclined personality who is a strong individual contributor always seeking innovations and improvements.  The Plant, Property and Equipment Accountant must be able to prioritize workload across multiple functional areas while attaining efficient and exceptionally accurate results.


    The following duties represent the key requirements of this position, and while very inclusive, they may be added to in future:

    • Maintains Fixed Assets Ledger:
      • Enter additions, disposals & transfers
      • Post monthly depreciation for fixed assets
      • Prepare sales & fixed assets allocations
      • Prepare annual depreciation forecasts
      • Execute period end closings
    • Maintains Construction in Progress (CIP):
      • Track spending for CIP
      • Review & process invoices for payment
      • Prepare CIP & Capital Expenditure Reports
      • Prepare Capital & Tax Roll-forward Schedules
      • Maintain all CIP & Capital Expenditure files
    • Executes Audit, Tax, Business License & Special Filings:
      • Prepare fixed asset schedules and other documentation as required during annual audit
      • Maintain/provide support as needed for filing of property tax returns (ie. audit documentation by county, business personal property tax renditions for required states, annual sales reports by state etc.)
      • Prepare (code/key) payments for property taxes and business licenses
      • Prepare and file annual business license applications and maintain all files
      • Cross train with Sales/Use Tax Associate
      • Conduct special projects/duties as assigned


    • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent (ie. GED). A Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or related Business Discipline is highly preferred.
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience with: fixed assets; multi-state business property taxes and business licenses; property tax, business license and financial audits; filing census, multi-state property taxes and other annual report filings.
    • Proven experience working with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
    • Proven experience working with large ERP accounting systems.
    • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills and building diplomatic relationships with all employees at any level.
    • Ability, beyond basic skill performance levels with Reading, Writing, Mathematical & Computer Functions, to include:
      • Beyond basic abilities with Microsoft Office Software, specifically with Word and Excel where advanced user experience is highly preferable.
      • Prior experience with SAP is highly preferable.
