We have an immediate opening for a Marketing Category Manager in our Corporate Marketing function.  The Marketing Category Manager has a high level of visibility within the organization and within our client/partner network and reports to the Director of Brand Marketing and will work cross-functionally within Royal Cup and hold responsibility for product development, pricing and overall promotion of the specific product category to increase profitability and drive sustainable growth.  The Marketing Category Manager will be the subject matter expert, providing detailed analysis for their assigned category, focusing on the areas of; product assortment, pricing, promotions, new product introductions and pricing changes.

The Marketing Category Manager’s primary responsibilities are geared around pursuit of increased success for both Royal Cup & our customers and partners. The Marketing Category Manager is centered on, among other focus areas, the following key components:


  • Partnering with Director of Brand Marketing:
    • Review and understand the annual strategic marketing plan with focus on product portfolio strategy & communication frameworks to strengthen Royal Cup positioning in the category.
    • Review and understand KPIs and manage measurement against goals for acquisition, conversion rates, customer satisfaction and retention rates.
    • Support Director of Brand Marketing & Director of Channel Marketing in the development, execution and analysis of bi-annual competitive reports.
  • Brand Marketing & Customer Activation Initiatives:
    • Function as Subject Matter/Category expert, accountable for translating data into action, leading internal and external stakeholders through insights-based recommendations.
    • Analyze syndicated data and sales data to develop & optimize pricing, promotion, and product assortment. Provide recommendations to National Accounts, FoodService and Commercial sales organization partners.
    • Execute the product portfolio strategy, product positioning and category differentiators to maximize growth. 
  • Partnering with Cross Functional Marketing Team:
    • Working with the National Account, FoodService and Office Coffee Sales Organizations:
      • Establish & maintain close relationships, striving to better understand their unique needs and perspectives and working to ensure their needs are addressed in the overall Category strategy.
      • Serve as Subject Matter expert in specified Category when collaborating on business development opportunities.
    • Working with the Senior Vice President of Operations & Purchasing Departments:
      • Analyze current sourcing strategies, work to identify & correct any issues and ensure the most competitive and best service delivery possible in sourcing for the Category.
      • Collaborate on product development opportunities.
    • Partner with Creative Services to develop category-specific communications, including product launch support materials, training materials and POS materials.
    • Partner with Directors of Customer Insights and Channel Marketing to identify areas for potential growth and analyze impact of proposed changes.


  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree (preferably in Marketing, Business or a similar discipline).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a Marketing Brand Management role, with exposure to required functional skill areas.  Prior food and beverage industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Positive, team oriented attitude with a solution focused and customer centric mentality.
  • Project Management Experience, including exceptional attention to detail and maintaining “big picture” focus while prioritizing multiple projects and rapidly solving problems in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers, internal and external.
  • Ability to work a flexible work week to include some nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, as required based on business needs, often requiring overnight stay to attend meetings, trade shows, training and other work related events as scheduled.
  • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process.
